l repose within myself
feeling content,   until

a negative thought occurs
i should be doing something

yet,nothing important awaits me

guilt is a foolish waste of time
why do we give in to it

i return to my thoughtlessness, happy
to be victorious over whatever force
that was trying to steal my contentment!

thinking nothing can be wonderful...

Writing nothing in an Authorsden review is wonderfully easy, too. I read lots of them every day.

I agree that guilt is often a foolish waste of time. But there are also times when it spurs us on to do things for others that we might let drag on when we shouldn't.

Thoughtlessly yours,
Richard

There is a great video out there that describes the difference between men and women. According to the instructor, men have a "nothing box" where they can retreat into blissful, well, nothing. Maybe you have one too. Patrick

guilt is a foolish waste of time

It is, especially when there's not enough time to do everything we want to do, including doing nothing some times.

One of the most negative thoughts is, "what if" that darn one that keeps second guessing us for the worst.

Eileen, I often think that lack of thought...."thoughtlessness," is a wonderful place to be!

That "I should be" can be a killer. Love the message here. Nothing can be wonderful.

IT CERTAINLY CAN BE...THANK GOD FOR THE TIMES WHEN ONE CAN EMPTY THEIR MIND AND REFUSE TO THING ABOUT ANYTHING...SUSPENDED IN NOTHINGNESS...WONDERFUL. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS.

Eileen,
Those moments are media, those pauses between doing that we too often overlook. I want to be still and not bow to what an old friend, now passed on, used to call the 'compulsive work ethic'.
Yes!

I understand that guilt feeling though, Eileen. If I'm just "goofing off," and not doing what I feel that I must although it is nothing major or even pressing. I still get that feeling and usually give into it and go do whatever was bugging me.

I think that is a wonderful prayer. For me it's just being with Jesus. No words, thoughts, or preconceived ideas. Loved this Eileen.

Happens to me almost everyday in this political road we are on, but by night fall I brush it off till the next day. I won't lose any sleep on it as long as I have taken some action to try and correct it.

I wont lecture you on your own poem.
It seems that others do try hard to explain what you mean by it.
But I feel that' it is what it is.. Unusual and Excellent!

Meditation - the quiet of getting into the "gap" - that place between thoughts that very few ever notice but which makes all else seamless. Thoughtlessness is a very healthful place to be - a resort within.

Looking at the source are you, before thought, before creation,
the totallity of things that don't need our thought to excist, carry on, to much thought here already. Hugs! Jasmin Horst

"wonderful" is when we have given ourselves permission to put our hearts, minds and souls into cruise control in order to bask in the true beauty of being alive with appreciation and "just being". Us gals are pretty bad at this, often; we can never remember that we were created first and foremost as "human beings" and not "human doings"! :)) And "wonderful" is the reminder to jilt the guilt always. Very creative and productive thoughtlessness here, Eileen! xx
