Poem Artwork

I have a special phantom muse
Of this world he is not
The beauty of this realtionship
Is that I get all he's got

One day I hope to impart
All the mystery he  portrays
I know it will touch your heart
For this ghost has wondrous ways

Such a mellow misty muse
Like the whisper of soft rain
Sharing phrases most diffuse
Like a songs haunting refrain

Mellifluous murmurs in my ear
Of whimsical wonders so divine
Tickling my fancy with words so dear
In mysterious manner most sublime

Providing portions of passionate prose
Carrying me to celestial heights
Opening new portals that never close
making of me a sensual, sassy. sprite

Eileen, and never less than a "sensual, sassy sprite" be, my friend. Your magnificent creativity is of course the Muse of whom you speak. You tethered my imagination and led me gently through this poem. Thank you for sharing this marvelous piece with me. May you always know joy, love and peace. Jon Michael

The flowing rhymes and just right alliteration are splendid. One might suspect that your phantom is also your incubus.

An entity that appreciates poetry.
The whisper of soft rain is sweet music especially when divine within the divine.

:) "Sensual, sassy, sprite" :). Muse ain' the only one!! Musta got
it from y o u.

Cool poem, my friend. Always thought of my muse as female, but
as with the Great Spirit, male is also apt. A n d neither, right?
Gender matters not at all. But it is intriguing to speculate, and
that is just one reason I love this piece.

Like the ghost, you have W O N D R O U S ways!

PS: Thanks for posting the great Schweitzer quote. Hadn't heard it.

PPS: Typo that slipped into relationship even adds. REAL-tionship!!

Infused with a spirit, with spirituality, Eileen, and yet delivered in very human, light terms...the absolute right approach without a scrap of pretence and making a real impact on this reader for one and on everyone else, I'm sure.
By the way, if he has a cousin or a sister (or even an old aunt) would you mind putting in a good word for me?

:))))))) Gotta luv it, Eileen! So THAT'S why you've been so quiet of late??!!! Tell us more, tell us more! And is that a typo in line 3 first stanza, or the secret of the tryst... that, in fact, it's based on REAL-TY! Even better! The living Muses are, as we all know, of course, the best... WTG, love and hope all is well in Spriteland, Kate xx
