The night fades
the birds nest
the memory wades
the trees rest
crimson crevices
open in dreams
shifting molecules
flood the scene
phantoms quiescent
nymphs aflutter
no mans descent
in cosmic clutter
riding with velocity
through my left eye
horses of prophecy
racers of the sky
apocalyptic entities
enter my space
demons and deities
no human race
entwined in warfare
causing alarm
strike without care
doing much harm
earth full of war
joins in the battle
the world we know
is losing its saddle

And the armies which were in heaven followed HIM upon white horses. . .
BEHOLD, the LORD cometh with ten thousands of His saint's.

I ain't gonna lose my saddle! And if someone steals it, I'll ride bareback.

When you get down to your last gasp on earth, then you'll find there is hope coming in the clouds.Let eye see: let ear hear; Be of good cheer; Lord come quickly.

Apocalyptic indeed. As our bodies break down, and, we all do, the mind picks up the signals and transmits them to us.

You have chronicled that process so well here. Fortunately, the Earth is in constant rebirth, saving us from our own destruction.

Yes the whole surface unrest is spiritual at the depths. Well penned and very thought provoking Eileen.

IT HAS TO...GOD IS NOT A LIAR, THIS WORLD WILL BE DESTROYED WITH THE FINAL BATTLE OF AMAGEDDON TO MAKE WAY FOR THE 'NEW' HEAVEN AND 'NEW' EARTH, WHICH ARE ETERNAL. SO WELL DONE AND ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING, LOVE AND BLESSINGS, JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS.

I love how you frame and couch this Revelatory stream of consciousness, Eileen; the short lines that literally DO travel like an arrow's shaft through the eye are brilliant and, of course, fully penetrating. And I like the suggestion of prophecy about this, too, with the eye imagery. The Earth is most certainly assuming a Bucking Bronco status and no wonder... we should have known better than to try and saddle her with all our detritus in the first place... xx

Eileen, a powerful analogy my dear friend. Politicos and men of greed would have us undo ourselves for their gain and control of all that we are rather than all we could be. You have written this work with insight many others should have. My thanks for sharing the wisdom that recognizes man's ignorance. Sheep who follow the wrong shepherd. May you live each day with peace and love in your heart and joy gleaming in your eyes. Jon Michael

...and the horse is about to be put down, Eileen. This is highly relevant, sharp and insightful and the taut style - not a waste word - matches theme and thought.

A scary and accurate, prophetic account of the world we live in. But as your opening lines suggest, nature abides with all of the human turmoil. I really like this Eileen.

I think we are a little bit off our saddle or is it 4 cents short of a nickel...? Either way, we're all a bit nuts, especially your two other Ed brothers...;-) Jersey

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
