Poem Artwork

This poem was inspired by the photo
of the haloed moon a friend sent me.
I think the photo is awesome!

~*~

(a bit tongue in cheek;-)

Who weeps for me, none but the owl
doth screech my pain in vain, for
I am left once more in my boudoir
alone, unfed, unloved, but well  bled
waiting for he who is not  around
the enigma who gets lost, and can't
be found, who is sometimes like the
beast who goes to ground~

^I weep looking out at the haloed  moon^

Where is the man of the hour, nowhere
in this vicinity is he,  aloof, alas ,alack,
somewhere on his back, but not with me
another she? who can it be, none that
I know, perhaps none at all for he does
fall into the category of neanderthal
and loves to hide in his cave of dreams
leaving reality to the sunbeams~

^I weep looking out at the haloed  moon^

Wherefore art thou O wolf of wonder
that howls under the haloed moon and
all too soon you seek what I have to give,
but only when you decide, until then you
like to hide, under the guise of surprise
but I must be ready at all times to receive
your elusive desire, even though I may
have lost my fire, waiting while you were,
I know not where, but my dear, it wasn't  here!

^I weep looking out at the haloed  moon^

Eileen, as one who listened to Linda Ronstadt and Melanie Safka sing the beautiful lyrics of,"Silver Threads and Golden Needles", your poem lit my nostalgic fire. "All I want's the love you promised beneath the haloed moon, but you think that I should be happy with your money and your name, and hide myself in sorrow while you play your cheating game". Tongue in cheek or not, this is a poetic gem a will treasure affectionately my dear friend. Love and peace to you. Jon Michael

Sad thought invoked by the cold ice crystals of the haloed moon, waiting for the man of your dreams. I'm not religious, so will not say who he is].

This is excellent. You'll have trouble topping this.
And your right, the photo is awesome. I was trying to
write about the first day of Fall and the full moon -
but scratch that! This should be in a magazine somewhere!

She bewitches yet the silver moon
As swatches of golden grasses swoon
For not yet lost, she sings her song
Beckoning him, although he is wrong
To abandon such a lady of the night
And the picture, now that's a sight!

Good day my witchy friend. Glad to see you are still at it. Wondered what you had been up too....just posted my Hallo' taunt to you....but thought instead of aggrivating and waiting, I would just stop by and check out how you are doing....my email still works, old gal.

:)) You have accomplished this so well, Eileen! A delightful capricious and flirtatious tongue-in-cheek with an operatic, flouncy feel... very much makes me think of the hi-speed of black-and-white old movies, the heroine bound to the tracks, type of thing! Ach, woe is me... but guess, at least, you can also say "fangs for the memories!" LOL xx

Both picture and poem are amazing. Why is love so often composed of one who gives always and one who gives occasionally? Eileen you handle the topic with humor but with a bit of a sting too. Well penned.

Eileen, we both await him under that haloed moon..why do we wait? becuase we both know the same depth of love attraction that is undenibly stored deeply within our beings. I have written a full moon poem, because this full moon (Harvest) Moon is a very powerful moon. Brilliantly lit, as is your poem.
Wonderful work here, start howling, I am !

Much peace, love and light,
Amber

A lot of inspired sentiment is abundant withing the structure of this poem, Eileen. Tongue-in-cheek notwithstanding, the secrets of wounded desire is a painful thing to see/read. Good writing.
