I get out of bed on the last day of December, trying hard to remember
what I did while confined to bed...I vowed to start 2011 on my feet, and it was oh so sweet, for the moment, though I have to stay in my new power chair since my heart is too weak to take the wear and tear,on my hip
I bid you all,a Blessed,Happy New Year, as I regain my strength
I hope to be back reading and commenting soon...
Until then I no longer stride, I glide
if you dare i'll take you for a ride
i'm a speed demon it's great fun
watch out, i'll keep you on the run ;-)
Love,
etw
Below is an anonymous poem, please tell me how you like it?
"shadows of mood"
the sun brought shadows to sketch me a mood
love was a stranger playing there on the wall
she cast an expressionless smile that beguiled
where does love hide ‘til the halo moon is high
my heart knows not why my sighs are bated
romance is not a man rapt in anticipation’s breath
steep my future in the black tea of doubts
until her intentions for me are cast sincere
infatuation is the quicksand of my vulnerability
youth and beauty, deception’s accoutrements
lures to those enduring romance’s depravation
shadows fill my parlor with the moods of love
Eileen, I can tell you now what a joy it was for me to
park my chair and walk again. Glad to have you back...
you've been missed. Yours in good health in this new
year. -gene.
Eileen, glad to hear you are adjusting and beginning to feel better! One day at a time my friend, one day at a time. In the meantime you are kept in our prayers.God bless....
Thoughts of a lover when unsure of the possibilities that lie ahead. A very vivid portrait of the many thoughts that flow through a busy mind when true love is on the thresshold...
I am jealous, I really want one of those chairs. A neighbor let me ride around in hers, once, had so much fun I was tempted not to return it. Take it easy between laps and regain your strength.
Take care,
Sherry

Oh my...yes please rest sweet lady my prayers are with you ...Hugsss
GOD BLESS YOU, EILEEN!!! So glad all our thoughts and good wishes have somehow "conjured you up" and brought you back to us! Your chair sounds mighty good fun but we look forward to the time when your hip and heart go hand in hand to enable you to put your poetic dancing shoes on again... we can do a two-step together when, I, too, have me latino legs back on again! Til then, that Anon poem was brilliant, methinks. As others have said, that line
infatuation is the quicksand of my vulnerability
is brilliant and the whole poem speaks of that sense of isolated loneliness that comes with willing distant or uncertain love into being, and the substitutions we can make until it is. Mend well and meander awhile among us when you can. All beneficent blessings be yours in 2011. xx Welcome Home! :))
Happy New Year To You dear friend
I wish you best of health and recovery
You will be in my prayers
as for the poem
It was beautifully composed
most enjoyable
Love & Peace be with you
Eileen,
Bless your strength and your new mobility and can I please have a ride in that chair? ...and that "infatuation is the quicksand of my vulnerability" is outstanding.
Eileen, knowing that you are well and on the mend is the best news I have had this young new year. Since I am somewhat of a speed demon myself, I would be thrilled to have you scoot me around in your new high speed chariot. My message to you, get well, get well, get well! What is the authorsden without Eileen? Greatly diminished. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael
Thank God you have returned, so now you can protect me from Pee wee, he has been up to his old tricks ad blaming me for everything as usual...hey, can I take a ride on your new sleigh...we got snow here today, about 4 inches so far though I have not been outside yet...good to see ya writing such neat new material...Jersey
Bless you, Eileen, I send you prayers for your heart and for your hip and healing in all ways.
I found this poem to be behind a veil of sadness and perhaps fear. It is incredibly fascinating to me, and so easy to identify with.
Eileen, first and foremost, I am so happy that you are doing better. I have been thinking of you for some time now. Healing energy always your way.
Secondly, this poem, it's so well written. It sounds like this person lives in fear of falling in love, however. I just wrote a poem pouring my heart out, (thanks for the comments) and that's what this poet should do, just pour his heart out and don't let fear rule your world..
Eileen I'm so sorry for what you've been through. Rest and mend, thoughts and prayers are with you always. The poem is very beautiful, profoundly thoughtful. I've been wondering where you were but thought you were just taking a long holiday.
Just the other day, I said to myself, where in hell is Eileen, and sure enough it must have been hell, I thought your eyes needed fixing, but as always you see very well. Now I find it's your hip, hips, are you supporting a doctor? In any case, it has'nt damaged your poetic impishness, and your last poem shows it. I hope you'll be better soon, and don't run anyone over, you got a horn? never mind,,,
Hugs! Jasmin Horst
Dear friend, Eileen...how good to see your post and know of your conditioin...and recovery ('tho slow). Keep your spirits high - as usual. And wishing the New Year brings you full recovery. The poem is lovely, but not as lovely as reading it from you!
Blessings and Love - Micke
(who's also attempting to stay on her feet and regaining her vision)
So nice to see you posting Sister Tiger Lily,
And wishing a strength-filled New Year to you;
Don't let Brother Jersey drive your power chair,
Once he gets on it, your new chair will be through.

The anonymous poem seems to be written by someone wanting, but afraid to love.
Thank you for sharing and I hope the New Year brings you both good health and happiness,
