In all the little lapses
of my intricate synapses

when a momentary swing
of my mood is happening

I can't help but wonder why
Some things go so quickly by

Too soon our senses return
to  things we'd rather spurn

I've determined that I will flow
the direction my heart wants to go

Whatever I do will be my own way
It's up to me to make my day

Too many times I've held a hand
Only to wind up in quicksand

The road ahead is paved with promise
I have chosen not to be remiss

From living content in the happy glow
Knowing I'm the director of my own show

The main director, producer, and actor
Is of course almighty God the Creator

When in all things I follow His lead
He equips me with all that I need

Experience has taught you that following every so-called helping hand may really be leading you down the wrong path and we are own best guides. The direction of your poetry is as good as your life.

Dear Eileen, I fully agree with your conclusion. No one else should lead you. Only your heart who is in direct contact with the Almighty.
I miss every one of you, as I had to finish a translation of one of my French books. Love Emile

We seem to be on the same page insofar as being the captain of our own ship this morning, Eileen. You said it better.
