Take Me Safely Home

My heart it filled with fear,
As I watched the road straight ahead,
There were so many accidents,
Left innocent people nearly dead.
Clutching at the wheel,
I safely pulled off to the side,
These words I heard were from above,
I knew was God, He is my guide.

I then asked God for a favor,
Please God, take me safely home,
So that my darling family,
Won't live their lives alone.
You see Lord, she isn't healthy,
She's not got long for this world,
Please God I just have to live,
For my wife and little girl.

It was on a night like this,
A few short years ago,
She too was on her way home,
But little did she know,
Through that fearful blizzard,
Was an accident just ahead,
That almost took her life that night,
And left her nearly dead.

So I pray that you will lend an ear,
When you hear my prayer tonight,
Please help me heavenly Father,
Through this storm without a fight,
You see God she isn't doing well,
She's not meant long for this world,
Please God help me safely home,
To be with my wife and little girl.
