 The good Lord looked down on you today,
He saw you were tired and needing rest,
He opened up His loving arms to you,
And then did what He thought best.
He comforted you and welcomed you,
Into his loving peaceful heavenly home
Announced to those who went before
To greet you so you wouldn’t feel alone
Please don’t you mind our weeping tears,
For they are shed by us not having you,
We always thought we had you here for us,
Now we don’t know what we’re going to do
We know you earned your reward though it makes us sad,
You’ll never know how much you meant to us,
That thought alone should make us glad.
No Bernie you will never be forgotten,
In our hearts you will always be in this family
And now you have marked another day,
To share a special spot held dear in memory.
We know that God works His many wonders,
We’re not to question the reasons why.
We’ll just accept that you are now home,
As we selfishly hang our heads and cry.
As a Father, Husband, Brother and Friend
You were loved by so many who have known
The smiles of hope you offered will live forever  in our hearts
Till we too join you someday in your new Heavenly home.
