Evil is to Live as God is to Dog

EVIL IS TO LIVE

I have so much time to think these days
I rarely leave the crypt
I have no reason to anymore
My life my memories of the way things once were
Are long since gone, they now are nothing more then
Just dusty cobwebs in my mind
The world has changed so greatly in my nearly thousand years
Of existence
Words are my new fascination for instance
Did you know that Evil backwards spells Live
And that Devil backwards spells Lived
It’s quite interesting; I could sit and ponder this for hours
Who comes up with words and what they mean
Some man named Webster?
But what’s even more intriguing to me is that Dog backwards spells God
That has to be a real blow to all those that believe
So perhaps evil is supposed to live and the Devil lived, while God is a dog
It’s all so very perplexing isn’t
It makes one wonder why it is then that mortals have such a difficult time
Believing that the immortals, other realms, or rather Vampires exist
Let me first assure you that I have no idea weather or not God is dog, man, woman or even a creature of existence I have never seen God
But I can assure you that Evil does live and the Devil is quite real
And has lived and will live again
This whole thing is really quite maddening
I have seen so many changes
The rise and fall of kingdoms, great and small
The inventions of better more destructive weapons
And grand modern innovations
Such as my houseboy whom brings me blood
From something called a blood bank
Who would have ever thought of such a thing
This world is fully of mysteries
It is all so very perplexing if you just stop and think about it...

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
