- simply time to live -

Poem Artwork

meanwhile,
the waves lick the sand,
giving generous pleasure
and wiping off traces,
prints of ponderous days.

and I lie,
wait,
contemplate.

meanwhile,
a seagull spots its prey,
as lovers kiss away their darkness,
kindly invited by the sun.

and I dream,
sit,
hesitate.

meanwhile,
there's a war
where young kids are called soldiers,
blinded by lies and dust.

and I try to gather strength;
do I reflect
or do I act?

meanwhile,
an old lady dies,
her gray hair, her ashes
are clouds in my eyes.

and I pause,
feel,
meditate.

until I finally find the words
that tell me to stop believing
that all is happening
while I'm watching,
passively dreaming,
in the meanwhile.

Sometimes we passively sit while life goes on around us...we have no alternative other than to live. Very beautiful, with beautiful imagery.

I have enjoyed many of your poems. It seems this one is less painful. But beautifu. However, I think it is suffering which produces much more meaningful art. Thanks

Beautiful work...there is so much to ponder in the lines that cause one to wrench in frustration with the horrors of this world.

Life goes on, regardless of what we do -- Dream, meditate, take action or simply ponder that "whats" of life. The nagging question is When will all this ugliness end?

God bless you. Kathy

What a great poem, Axilea. Phrases so beautiful you have to read them three times in a row: "blinded by dust and lies"; ...her gray hair, her ashes are clouds in my eyes."--all so beautiful. A passive dream that leads to positive action is always the most blessed kind of dream. Hope you find yourself dancing with the motion that's spurred by this emotion--that you bathe in the ocean of possibilities. Hope the clouds in your eyes rain down the right words, and nourish the ground you walk on, and spring up flowers with scents more exotic than you have heretofore known. --Charlie

Beautiful serenity in verse, to just sit back and relax. Well done, Axilea.

Sometimes as this write suggests we need to just be passive, sit back, think things throught and then act when the time is right. To rush in blindly to the fight is for fools and presidents. Lots of room in your write for readers thoughts to co mingle which is always nice. Keep up the word...

Axilea,

Very perplexing question if we chose to let it be. There is a time and a season for everything and yet not enough time or reason. Blessings Always, Paul.
