This is not really horror, although... you'l see. Just read it with a snobbish accent of your choice...

.

So honored, Madame
To walk in your company
It’s time for promenade
Underneath the gray mirror skies
And the birds of prey.

Would you like some tea Madame?
Oh enjoyable presence,
See how I shine
And it is not just my shoes!
It’s a pleasant garden,
n’est-ce pas?

Where Madame spots the vulture’s shadow.

Oh, how I would like to say,
But words fail me,
- They are in every menial mouth,
How banal! -
I’d rather not speak them
Surely you must know what I mean…
Voulez-vous danser?

Yes, I’m a lousy dancer
But so natural when I haha
When I hahaha
When I laugh, so preciously
And infinitely precious is your beauty, Madame.

Where she wonders: is this a garden or a jungle?

But Madame, why do you shiver
You quiver, dear, you worry…
Why, you shouldn’t, now that I’m here
Because I shall protect you
(And would you like more champagne?)
As I shall take care of you
Day after rain.

In this jungle, Madame is hurt
         Bitten by poisonous frogs,
         Fatally ill.

Oh stop pretending Madame,
This place is chic!
A perfect garden
Where I picture you with flowers,
In a white dress.

Don’t make me name the concept,
Oh so trite!
Testament, you see?
Or was it Marriage?
Why do I seem to confuse
Those words I cannot say…

Marriage is what I meant
And by the way,
My name is Madman,
What is your name?

Till in the darkness of birds of prey
                             Madame is running
         (With poison in her blood)
                                       Running away.

For some reason this reminds me of The Most Dangerous Game sort of concept. Zaroff is Madman and Madame is that hunter (I forget his name) in it's sense...I somehow imagine Vincent Price as playing the Madman.

This is very effective, Axilea. I agree with your previous reviewer; Hitchcock would be proud. Thank you for sharing. Love and best wishes to you,

Hitchcock would have loved this tale. I can almost picture Jimmy Stewart as Madman. Very good writing Axilea.

I say round up a posse and let's go get this guy. We will teach him a little respect and have fun in the mean time. OH, OH, I guess I had better go take my medication again. this is such a brilliant write. The way you weave the madman's words about to show the lies without saying them. The boundaries of conventional were crossed and I love it. Hugs. Liz

'Twas to the ogress she ran with blinded eyes, and madman's voice still ringing. She ran and ran, biting her wrists, spilling her blood in a red wind behind her, splattering her dress (made of blue, not white). She ran on. In a large depression in the earth, she fell, lying limp, her face white, her dress spilling red. Mere moments later she lay limp in the hollow of a hand that descended from the sky. From half-closed eyes, she felt ascension. Two ogress band-aids swaddled her bloodied wrists, and she felt light returning to her mind. In seven steps, she lay in nook, with an onion skin wrapped around her. There was unfamiliar humming from corner of the room, and an unfamiliar feeling that was friendly. She arose, and peeped out from the figurines, and saw the ogress there, crocheting. There was this dream she'd had, about a garden and a madman. What was it again?... .. ...

Awesome words and visuals. Have you thought of writing a screenplay?
