I awaken
From a restless, erotic
Sleep,
My body afire,
Glistening with sweat
In the dusky moonlight,
Yearning for what
My mind had created
And you are not here
To satisfy,
And why should you be?
I am but
Your girl Friday,
The practical, sensible,
Tight-laced woman
In neutral,no nonsense clothes.
Even if I knew how
To attract you
I could not,
For my job is
Too important
For this single woman
Who had assumed the care
Of her 'tween-age sister.
Yet I am
A woman still,
Whose sable hair falls
In wild and extravagant abandon
Once her bedroom door closes,
And whose virgin body luxuriates
In sensuous lingerie
And cool satin sheets.
How could you guess
That for years
I have covertly watched you
In your expensive,
Tailored suits,
Breathed your earthy, masculine
Cologne,
And lusted for
Your embrace?
Instead I quietly perform
The duties necessary
That allow you to
Conduct your business
Unfettered;
And while I am needed
I am not wanted,
I am appreciated
But not seen.
I am your dependable,
And ever present right hand,
Outwardly cool
And perpetually professional.
No one but I knows
Of the smoldering cauldron
Of untapped passion
That torments me
In the darkest, loneliest hours
Of the night.
Reality speaks words. I have seen this happen in the corporate world. And at least one secretary secretly admired me.
And, I have secretly known that the best and hottest women are found buried away in ancient libraries, mostly overlooked and highly underrated. The advantage that librarians have over girl Fridays is that they have read every erotic novel in the holdings while waiting for prince charming to come and take them out of that dungeon of dusty books.
Sorry for going off on a tangent, but your wonderful poem inspired me.
Wow, yea, right. I had a secretary years ago who was the ultra professional and the perfect worker, never making a mistake and always taking the initiative; but in her relationship with me, I always felt there were smoldering unspoken edges, a kind of smokeless fire there underneath. I was "taken" at the time and never allowed her entry into the forbidden realm. When I left the job, I never heard from her again. She became someone else's admin assistant. John

When the powers-that-be make the decision to return a selfish party-girl to Earth on three missions of redemption, can romance and mayhem be far behind? One hot and trendy gay nightclub, two bickering angels and three unlikely p
