As you approach me
Across the moonlit room
You move with the grace
Of a panther
Negotiating its way
Through the dark;
I see the passion in your eyes
And it finds its answer
In the want
And the need
That fills me.
We've awaited this moment
Through the all these weeks,
Hungering for the time
When we were finally free
To share ourselves,
Body, heart, and soul,
In this most intimate of ways.
We've each known
The brokenness that comes
With shattered faith
And lost dreams,
Yet, here we are,
Finding within one another
Hope reborn
In a touch
And a smile.
At long last
You've come to me
And I've come to you,
Two soon to be one
With naught but love
Between us.
