We are all children of God

and that makes Jesus my oldest brother.

When I first thought about this belief

I could see headlines say everything

from “sick,” to “freak” to total disbelief

and how could I even be human for thinking such a thing.

I’ve envisioned doctors examining me

for paranoia or having a brain that is totally dysfunctional;

my own family doctor of 30 years recommending a page-full of tests.

Some people scoffed that I am totally, completely, certifiably crazy..

hypocrites carrying Bibles saying such a thing just could not be—

especially since I am not a Biblical scholar.

People came from far and hear to hear my story only to

scoff and heckle me when I told them what I believe.

Still others wanted to know who was paying me and how

much I was getting for such blasphemous words.

I can only tell the truth as I understand it.

My only shred of hope is that someone, anyone

will “see” what I do and what it means.
