Journal, Sept. 3, 2005 Aaron has called twice since being in Germany. It was good to hear his voice and he talked about the enemy but would not give me the details. That’s okay with me and he shared how much he really was scared, and then told me he loved me. He’ll be home late afternoon tomorrow saying he will tell me about the sorrow he feels for buddies of his unit not coming home. My son has lost one eye from this wrong, and has trouble concentrating very long; That’s alright.He will be home with me Thank you, Lord.I missed him, can’t you see? I’ll take care of my homecoming son.
I will be so thankful when they are all home...

There may be more to taking care of the homecoming son than the average bear can handle. These guys need long lasting therapy, they are not receiving, and that's not right. They need to be able to leave the war behind them, as well as can be expected, but they aren't being allowed the opportunity to work through all they've seen and been through.
Hopefully one day, all that will change and we'll give back to them all they've gifted to us.
