A LOVE NOT MEANT TO BE
Walking alone in a silent park,
And a fellow follows on a lark,
Not aware of who he is,
He is pushed away.
But the fellow continuously enters your life,
Try as you might not to yearn for this man,
You still do, and you’re consumed by your lust,
For a love not meant to be.
He establishes the interest that you long to show,
Never once saying that he cares,
That the only one for him is you.
A man of song, that belongs to all,
Never exclusively to you,
He shows you a friendship,
And shares with you his sorrows,
Never once saying you are for him…
The words one desires to hear from a love not meant to be.
Going out of your way,
To show that you care,
By seeing the man of song,
Never having him to yourself for very long.
Per chance it’s best that the attraction was
Not meant to be,
But good to fantasize of a love
That could have been.
