Tombstones in my memories
while visiting cemeteries
as a little girl,
these visions they uncurl....
sis and brothers,
hispanic mother,
odd father,
shown you to me
and though strange,
strangely in you, I found bliss
and peace and calm beauty
in lawns, statues, flat stones and tall
memorials.
With so many words inscripted
as last notes
to loves, their gifts
they would become....
the wrinkle of time bade you a twinkle
in memories of those left to mourn-
and I to witness...
Strangely,these words
have worn
in me
a groove, a dark-cool reverie,
I think I'll keep secretly....
