( I noticed a woman playing with her leashed pet.....)

I live on the edge of a city,
surrounded by water and buildings,
and though I'm not rich,
I can't help but think
I'm lucky to live where I do.

Driving to work, three streets in
from where the ocean meets the end,
the vibrancy changes.
Same-different arrangements
in color, class and overture.

Walking is out of necessity,
earlier than what I usually see.
Most skin is darker,
the feel is harder,
and just as I conclude surmise,

I'm struck by a scene
I think, can't be,
then focusing-
a cat's what i see...?
and I am surprised-
this cat's in my eyes....
fat from attention
and dancing....?

He's playing with
Unlikely Owner,
her toothless, wide smile
plied by Coder,
with his feline-dance,
encrypting with prance,
he speaks to her "JOY"
on the loader

meant to haul groceries.
Keeps her home
portable, but she's not alone
she's got kitty dances
performed by her prancing,
playing, happy, leashed, cared-for,
fat cat......

noticing that she was
homeless,
did not darken what
had just focused.
My mood - THAT had changed.
Those two rearranged
my emotions
for a Brighter Day....

I realize, once more
just how little
I know about Life
and Her riddle,

Happiness paves
it's way through life's
sidewalks,
if you let it in,
just
a little.....
