(just a silly ditty)

the forty-plus
years
I have under my belt
don't do nothing
to dry my dreaming well

'cause dreams are where
I go
to see what I don't know
in my boring, waking life,

like,
giants in the sky
who spin the moon around
and do a little dance
with half a smile,
a crown
is spinnin' on the sun,
the sky's sure having fun
in the party way up high,

or the spider
on the wall
with a clock on his back,
he's lookin' up at me,
says
"what YOU lookin' at?"
and he moves real
slow
while he's two feet long
as I wonder,
where am I?

for what life lacks
my dreams give back
with singing trees
or a fairy on my back,
some chocolate furniture
or a girl
who likes the lure
of wings that fly her high
while prince-charming stands nearby...

there's
the husky-voiced lion
who calms the giant cryin
or the huge pit-bull
who can't stop, but he's
tryin
to let go of the cat
whose sleeping on his back
meanwhile, some pigs are flyin.....

over lunch, a pizza pie
with pepperoni eyes
that stare back up at you
and make me wonder why,
a naked woman says
"how are you, dear old friend"
as she guzzles down green wine?

for what life lacks
my dreams give back
with singing ears of corn
or a kitten on my back,
some chocolate furniture
or just me
liking the lure
of wings that fly me high,
look, prince charming's waving hi...

"Hi............"

..............

the forty-plus
years
I have under my belt
will never do nothin
to dry my dreaming well

and the dreams are where
I'll go
to see what I don't know
in my boring waking life

Thank God for dreams, I know
but still I'd never blow off
my boring,
waking
life...

Enjoyed this very rich serving of dream imagery and metaphysical observation. Thanks for the sharing,

Yes, thank goodness for dreams! Where would we be without them? Never stop dreaming, Rose. Well done!
