My adopted ex
doesn't know
his lineage,
so our daughter's ancestry's
elusive,
not found anywhere,
still, thick curly hair,
blue-green eyes, rare,
like mixed-race children,
and I'm full
and proud
of what God chose
to give me
but worries can burrow
when I think too much
of how I front,
to teach her what little I know,
how can this be?
how can I teach
when she teaches me?
a Voice from Within,
says, "Love her,
enough,
all will fall in
place, Love her"
'til my heart & mind
with Love gleaned from skies,
know that to Love her
enough
will be covered.
The surmise
will shift and will bend,
with her feistiness, strength and her whims,
then cultivate to
Her Woman, thus truth
as I stand witness to the tend.
My ex and I may guess
her lineage
but still, it's pleasantly
elusive,
'cause what matter's there?
when thick, curly flair
flashes blue-green
just like the lucid
colors in the sky and the sea,
I'm blessed so to have her by me,
she's mine, for a while,
'til her
Woman from Child
grows forth,
then to Her Life she'll be.....
(hopefully not too far from me :o))

Our mystery, our history, our destiny.....
Rose, I am glad you see the same mystery and wonder of life in your children's eyes. It just seems to bring my life to focus seeing children who depend upon, and who give so much to me. A true and lovely gift from God; thank you.
