Indulgence

I eat oatmeal, with spices and with honey
I've given up all meat, and now I'm running
around like crazy, filling up on veggies
in vast attempts to look and feel my best.

I drink gallons of water, two daily,
I eat fish & grains all because "they" tell me
that 'cause of this, I'll live LONG,
and LOOK and feel and BE strong
but I am starting to feel a bit edgy.

What if I order just one, small donut?
Or lavish butter on sour dough, torn up
on clam chowder, the fattening kind,
no diet food, (yikes!), I might find
a small indulgence could help me get by....?

Ok,
save me sugar, give me bliss
with whipped cream pies, just no fish,
that is until, this damn edginess subsides,

then I'll go back to healthiness,
I'll lift those weights, this I promise,
and do what those "they" people say with pride.....

after that
I think that
I'll be fine.........maybe.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
