To all who made the ultimate sacrifice
I honor you, not just on Memorial Day
but every time I think of freedom
and the price you paid so I could have it
You are more than rows of white crosses
Each of you had a name, hopes, dreams,
promise of life that you never got to live
because of man’s inhumanity to man
To all of you who had to bear the horror
of battle, the stench of death, the fear
of never seeing your home again
Thank you for what you did for all of us
To those who came home wounded
body and or soul, those who never
got an opportunity to be who and what
you would have been without a war
Those who live with disabilities everyday
inflicted by enemies in foreign lands
Those who are forgotten, uncared for
by a nation that owes them her life
I honor you, you have my gratitude
And to the loved ones you came home to
dead or alive, may we never forget
the sacrifice you also made, for country

Words that every soldier of every war fighting for the country wants to hear, because is lonely inside the foxhole of every Veteran that miss the fallen buddies with all their hearts.
As the daughter, sister, niece, cousin of Veterans, as well as a USAF Veteran, myself, thank YOU for honoring those who sacrificed their lives, their bodies, their minds for our country. Well done.
