Honkytonk Angels And Cheatin Snakes
By La Belle Rouge

I musta been all tuckered out
cause I rolled over and went to sleep
as Tex made his way on out
into the dark, dusty street.
Don’t know how long I slept
but I had a real scary dream
a dream so real and awful
it woke me up with a scream .

I looked out the window at the moon
it was high in the midnight sky.
That cowboy said he be right back.
Now somebody just might have to die.
I was naked and bruised all over
from the rodeo bull I’d been ridin
so I pulled on my jeans and shirt
all the evidence of an orgy hidin,

I slid that knife down into my boot
strapped that peacekeeper to my thigh .
If Tex was up to no good with Fanny
I was about to find out where and why.
Like a ghost I drifted across the street
then quietly slipped unnoticed in a beat
through the“Fandango’s” swingin door.
Whatever that lyin cowboy was doin
you could bet he won’t be doin no more.

Over in the far corner I spied em
with some bills stuffed in her garter
and her cheap goods on display
she didn’t know she’d seen her last day.
That busty bleached blond huzzy
was actin as brazen as could be .
Neither one of em saw what was coming.
They won’t expectin death and me.
I unshucked that peacekeeper in a wink
before anybody in the whole damn saloon
had as much as a minute to think.

I stood behind that cheatin cowboy
And put the barrel to his head
We mighta had some roaring good times
but a cheater was better off dead.
I laughed and cocked the trigger.
That cowboy was big, bad and strong.
The peacekeeper was badder and bigger
Fanny’s eyes grew round as a plate.
I sneered“You’re next Sugah”
as my green eyes filled with hate .
