It’s Christmastime once again
but you aren’t here to celebrate
Where have you gone Old Friend?
I ask the question but in my heart
I don’t like the answer it offers
You who claimed there was no love
within your life or broken heart
and yet, love poured through you
to those who called you “Friend”
You loved in deed and not word only
I miss your wisdom, your strength
that wit and wicked sense of humor
your forthrightness and compassion
I miss you more than words can convey
but I know you know just how much
Is it Christmas there where you are?
Are you sitting fireside with a cigar
a glass of cognac and a good book, or
are you strolling under the magnolias
by the riverside with your beloved belle?
Wherever you are today, Dear Heart,
I hope you are warm, happy and loved
and that you remember those of us
who have been left with an empty chair
at our Christmas celebration this year

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of Georg. I miss his offerings, reviews and selflessness. Along with the rest of our great AD family, I hope and pray that he is in a comfortable state and that he knows how much he is loved and missed.

HOW VERY TOUCHING...YOUR WORDS PRICK ALL OUR HEARTS, FOR TRULY HE IS MISSED. I AM SADDENED IN ONE RESPECT BECAUSE GEORG IS A POET...AND IF HE COULD WRITE, I KNOW HE WOULD BUT THEN ON THE OTHER HAND...THAT OLD CLICHE', 'NO NEWS-IS GOOD NEWS', GIVES ME GREAT HOPE FOR HIS RETURN. Belle, I too miss Georg so much! My father had just passed when I started with the den and Georg was there for me everyday! He helped ease the pain with his positive words and humor. He can't be gone! I am praying that he is resting and healing wounds so he is very strong when he returns. The den is not the same without him. He is very missed by me! This is a beautiful tribute to an amazing man that touched so many with his loving heart!
Belle, You have said what is in all of our hearts, there is such an empitness here on the Den without our Father. I have always felt that he was the glue for all of us. There is a sad empitness in my heart as well. I know that he is in a better place and is looking out after all of us. Your poem is beautiful, and inspirational as well.

Yes a great friend and poet, wherever he might be, may he always walk under an umbrella of Magnolias or Cherry blossoms and stop drinking that cheap Coors beer, before it does him in.
