dragonfly with organza wings
come closer, let me perceive
the intimation of immortality
embodied in a slender frame
artful shimmered iridescence
low existence on water’s edge
burdened wingless, colorless,
tethered to earth, debased
by such a primitive condition
you waited in deep shadows
renewed rising in blissful flight
you travel now in six directions
and view the earth from heights
that once you were oblivious to
dragonfly, you are me, I am you
you bask in summered sunlight
and grace timeless smooth rocks
with such silken, bountiful beauty
dragonfly teach me as I observe
an early morning transformation

The poem is lovely and reflective. I think I like the last verse best, though it would be nothing without what comes before it. "dragonfly teach me" sigh. The alliteration is remarkable as well, such as "summered sunlight" which is a very romantic phrase to me, and "bountiful beauty", who would not love that? Well done. Be well, Kathy
Certainly not the sinister view I gave them in my poem. Their wings are truly exquisitely intricate. They eat mosquitoes, too. Your usual beautiful writing style.
