Who Am I

Aged fingers reach
twig like thin
seeming to rush time.

Mirrors reflect
skin once smooth
softly sagging

Where I wonder?
Where has youth gone?

Where the soft subtle look?
Pink cheeks, rouged lips.

Youth vanishing
in it’s place,
a stranger looks back at me.

I quit having birthdays a few years back but I don't seem to be getting younger. Seriously though every year I feel younger at heart.Perhaps I'll soon be back to my second childhood so I can go out and play in the sandbox again. Got to remember to buy some Tonka trucks just in case I get the urge soon. Good poem, I enjoyed it.

Where I wonder?
Where has youth gone?
We all wonder this I guess
Being alive and healthy helps
a bunch with the age process.
Great poetry Sharahug....

Aww. Wow. A slap in the face. I'm sixteen, but I just realised I'm not three anymore and eighteen is just around the corner. Funny how time sneaks up behind us.

Warm Love,

Good poem. VERY good poem
