I remember I was so happy I was going to the parade With my best friend and his grandma And in my excited state I jumped in their car And as we pulled away I saw you there Standing on the steps Holding in your hands A clean shirt and some money for me I felt so bad To see you standing there dear mother Yes I went to the parade that day But I was sad � Wayne Thoden
