I have to ask my heart
When I choke on my tears
His Parent’s where are they
In shame he holds tight
The only friend he has in this world
Worn out and tired
They both sleep
They have no home
I ask God
If he will take hold of this being
Give him strength
Take him and his friend
Out of this destiny
Give them a ray of hope
Shelter from the storm
Show them there are people
Like me who truly care
I will wait here until they awaken
To offer them both a home, a meal
In exchange for kindness and respect
They deserve nothing less
Than Shelter
