White Lies With a Fork Tongue

Ease dropping...Whispering white lies...
Twisting the voice of an innocent child...in truth...

Whisper you did white lies with a fork tongue

After ease dropping into a conversation

None of your concern

Never intended when spoken in truth

To hurt or cause embarrassment

Your life is it so secure

Your standing so high

You think yourself above or better

Than the voice of a child

Trying to succeed on her own merit

In honesty

Take a lesson from an angry tongue

The thrashing is over

I would stake my life on it

This child will rise above you and all

That follows in your footsteps

With dignity

Wonderful poem though sad. Precious are the children we are given and heavy the responsibility to nuture and provide a loving atmosphere. Shame on those that don't even try. Deborah

It is often the sad truth that children do survive and become better people than their abusive guardians but it is also sad the struggle they go through to balance their goodness against what was done to them.

Never underestimate the intellegence of a child...they often have a way of seeing things in ways we do not! Excellent!

a very frank, straightforward approach. I think that this can apply to so many situations, metaphorical or real. A child's intelligence and dignity should be respected. Some arrogant paternalistic figures are usually afraid and clueless.

It is difficult to understand why some are so arrogant, especially with children! They never really have a good life! Excellent poem...ET
