The Land of the Free...The Home of the Brave...Now the Killing Fields...
Our Children, be there hope Some will survive Mothers and Fathers weep In prayer Still, their Children slip away Into the night Nights turning into days The vicious induct them Leaving only one way out Death Choices become tattoos' Markings of the Beast The path they have chosen The bandana's marking representation The war of the world Dance in the streets where once friends Now thy own enemies Fight for recognition A new killing field Killing to set an example A city divided Where Lords protect their own Feeding drugs to Children Showing them the way Each becoming a Brother or Sister Under protection Becoming Thieves, pimps, prostitutes, drug dealers, and gun runners The new Lords of the world Powerful only till time run out Another stepping into their shoes I say a war far away be nothing Compared to the war here in America The Land of the Free The Home of the Brave Now the killing fields Weep Mothers and Fathers You have not failed Society has broken down Surrendering our Children Feeding Lords under the protection of A Higher-up Someone, you would least suspect Being the Devil himself Will this great war ever end? Debra you have written more than a poem, you have become the voice for those precious humans caught in the cross-fire of the culture of death and its overlords. Who would believe it here in America?
We are busy in others backyards, when terrorism is reigning in our own. Like the plumber who fixes everyone elses kitchen sink, while his own dear wife sits at home with a broken one, so is our America!
