Technicolour Dreams

And as I stand here, staring out into the abyss,
there upon the other side is a shadow. It lingers,
every now and then, as it moves about upon its
own ledge.

Winds carry tiny whispers to these ears, as I stand
here silently, watching the world and I wonder, if
I were to fall ... what would become of me. Does
that shadow over there know? I could shout, but
alas, I fear it wouldn't hear me.

I pace, like a wolf trapped within a cage, along the
edge, causing pebbles to tumble into the darkened
chasm below.

A light shines, if only briefly, and the shadow moves
along its precipice. A glimpse of a face in this light
moves me to tears and I yearn to shout out. But,
the strength to do so I cannot find! So, I weep
quietly, crimson tears that blind.

If only I could reach out, cross this ravine some
how. Yet, as I search there are no bridges to
cross, at least none that I can find. So I sit, with
feet over the edge, dangling like a child sitting on
a pier.

My tears are not seen ...

If only ... but in my dreams this shadows resides.
Perhaps he's just some image from my mind. So,
there I shall sit, in my dreams and tenderly kiss
those lips upon the face so far away. Let me get
lost in this dream, and hear a voice I shall never
hear, but in this magickal place within me.

In dreams where beautiful souls roam free, with
no chains to tie them down to this land, floating
and soaring in the clouds of technicolour dreams.

I can be looking directly at some one talking with some one and feel that I'm only seeing a shadow across a chasm. Then I feel close to that person only after I'm no longer with her/him. It's all backward. I can relate.
