i will

dan johnson

i dreamt last night that i was on stage

singing with the great ones, caruso and pavarotti,

backing up loves sweet songs, sung with passion and flair.

while toiling away at work today

i closed my computer, quietly thinking….

perhaps, just maybe, i had penned the

next breakthrough novel,

screened at your cinema… in a year or two.

i finished painting the bathroom just as you asked,

when i stood back to admire my work,

 i thought i had out-tasked

the wide strokes, shadowed blushes of picasso and monet.

little blue lilies did i paint in borders straight and true

the walls shone a summer yellow, with… a little window…

for my love to brightly shine through.

don’t you know i will always love you?

i will sing love songs a little off key,

write poetic, silly love notes, shared between you and me,

paint the world in colors pure and true , … just to say;…  i love you.

i always will,

i will.

Go ahead, set it to music... each and every word, and send us a cd of that melodious voice. I can't wait. Me? I stick to writing, and the rocks thrown are few3er. Enjoyed. - Bill

To get such imagined joy out of painting a bathroom, you got any more of that stuff you're smokin?
