On safari
Dan Johnson
© 27 February 2013

Dancing across the vast Serengeti
Under that summer moon
We stopped to breathe
In that sweet elixir of togetherness
Between overhanging constellations
To light up our night
We sat on a fallen tree,
Hand in hand heart to heart
One lover to another
When you leaned in
Sweetly offering your love
To me forever…your
Words drifted in like whispers erotically breathed in zephyrean fashion
Slowly gently melodically
Stirring arousing awakening
Every sense of my being
It was just we two on safari
Dancing across the vast Serengeti
Under that summer moon.

I never stopped to consider the Serengeti as being a romantic venue until I read this superbly thought out and worded work Dan. My only fear with the actual setting, at night, beneath the spectacular glory of the twinkling heavens would be a cobra or black mamba wondering in to interrupt the romance. I wish you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

this is such a gorgeous poem, Dan,
genuinely romantic and lyrical while
avoiding the pitfall of soppiness

kudos!

What a beautiful safari! One I would much
like to take some day...

How romantic out in the vast wilderness of this
beautiful backdrop with love drops in words sweetly
given and felt to one another :)

"Sweetly offering your love
To me forever…your
Words drifted in like whispers erotically breathed in zephyrean fashion" Sigh.... :)

Dan - Wonderful poem. The wide open landscape and sky focused on,

...just we two on safari
Dancing across the vast Serengeti
Under that summer moon.

Wonderful poem!!!! Kind of like Jimmy Buffett in Kenya...as I read the poem I could hear ""The Lion Sleeps Tonight" in my internal soundtrack in the background.

Take care,
