The author evokes the image of a dancer who is beckoned to dance by the music, be it a salsa, Bollywood melody or a waltze. We all learn how to dance at the ballroom dancing schools and salsa workshops and latin american schools, but when the music starts, you are left along with your partner and have to bring in the temperament, your ethnic soul for music and rhythm, to make the dance something special, depending on your momentary psychic state. If you're wooing or in love, you can feel the adrenalin charging in your blood vessels, firing you to perform, to let your soul speak through your feet, torso and extremities. Till you become one with the music. Time and space are forgotten. There is just the music and dance, light feet swaying on the floor, as easily as a languidly moving cloud in the sky. A cosmic dance.
Life is a Cosmic Dance (Satis Shroff)
My soul is a passionate dancer.
I hear music where ever I am,
Whatever I do.
I hear the lively rhythm beckoning me to dance.
Sometimes it violins and Vienna waltz.
At other times a fiery salsa.
A Punjabi bhangra or a slow fox.
An Argentinian tango or a romantic rumba.
Life is a cosmic a cosmic dance.
With its kampfmuster
And its own choreography.
We have people around us.
We look at each other,
Oblivious of the others.
Mesmerised,
Drawn together by an invisible force.
The Flamenco guitarist wails,
‘Life is an apple,
Pluck it,
Eat it,
And throw it away.’
