How much more would we know If we just reached out and tried Reached out and sought new things Went beyond our barriers and self-inflicted limitations Seek to see what is not shown to us But rather hidden in corner�s cause they know you won�t look there Don�t let society simplify our lives for us And tell us what we need and don�t need What we need is knowledge No one will give it to you freely It has to be sought and a price paid for it The constitution promises life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness But amongst the lies it doesn�t tell you how much it�ll cost Or how much the tax is on happiness We pay with our time We pay with our mind We even pay with our souls Take the time to open your mind and free your soul For knowledge is the key to expression Expression is the key to happiness Happiness is the key to peace I need to write to express things in my heart and my mind Cause if I don�t I feel I�ll cease to exist I will not know myself if I kept it all in And denied my spirits release So I write on the brutality of our people by police around the country I write on the hatred America has shown us since the day they brought us here I write on terrorism and the tragedy of our dark September I write on misery and on the way I grew up in da hood But I also write on life and happiness I write on passion and the fire between souls I write on love lost, found and forbidden I write about God and his profound effect on my life I write to express the good and the bad of the world I write to express the uneasy thoughts I have I search my soul and express myself For no more than the reason of reason For the reason of self For the reason of expression To ask myself the questions Which lead me to seek answers For knowledge
All feedback and criticism are welcome and wanted. I'm trying to enhance my skills as my topics get deeper and soul searches longer. I'm digging to come up with the best.

Generally I stand alone in how I view things. Kudoos for being able to include so many themes and topics in one poem. I do not think one could write it more eloquently. Why the 7 then? A 7 because I feel that you expressed so many themes that one has to struggle to focus on both the poem and your sentiments. It is very easy to concentrate on your various themes as opposed to the poem itself. When one truly enjoys reading, there is generally an intertwinement of the theme and the poem, as if they are one and then there is no concentration barrier. Aside from this aspect, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
