My poetic side

My wife came in from work last week
and asked for a divorce
She said this rotten marriage
has finaly ran its course

But I don't really care now
This house is full of gloom
I'm out so fast on a Saturday night
you can hear the zonic boom

Now she tells her friends I'm lazy
But this is where she's foiled
cause' I vaccumed up last Christmas eve
and I think she's getting spoiled

But its when she calls me tightwad
that it hurts me to the core
cause' I offered her a chip last night
as I staggered through the door

My friend gave me an old valentine card
He said "this will keep her sweet"
But I didn't see the name inside
and she chased me down the street

So the papers they will soon be signed
The marriage will have died
How could she be so heartless to me
When she knows how hard i've tried

So i'm off to drown my sorrows
To the nearest tavern I find
I'll raise my glass, and have a toast
To the wife who left me behind

But then she heard I got six points up
and she said she still loved me
But I said they were for speeding
and not the lot-er-ry
