I just visited my daughter in Los Angeles. The weather was very hot and it played a little number on our dispositions. But all is well now. I am back home and she is coming to visit me for her birthday next week.

Picky Vicki

Vicki, Vicki,
Why are you so picky with me?
I seem to be the same with you.
It must be some sort of phase
we are going through.
I got on your nerves and you got on mine.
I am sure very soon, things between us will be fine.
Every so often, we have to speak our minds.
I am only trying to help you and give you good advice,
but you think I am trying to live your life.
You are all grown up, but you must understand,
that I have more experience and knowledge
of what you are going through.
I just want to help bring good things to you.
I am only trying to give you a helping hand.
Not to be bossy and demand.
Try not to be so independent,
that you are too proud to listen to Mom.
I have been there and done that,
and learned a lot about where you are going,
and where you have gone.
Don’t be too proud to take my advice,
I promise I won’t steer you wrong.
So, lets chill and let things be on and even keel.
I know you love me, and of course, I love you.
Don’t feel like we are competing,
and we will get through.
You are a wonderful daughter
who is going through a lot.
Stress and health problems were bothering us both,
and it didn’t help the situation that the weather was too hot.
You have to be willing to accept my help,
and know I only want what is best for you.
