Amid the intense, painful burning of the flames, The Fire Dancer dances on.

She dances into the fire,
Hysterical laughter bubbles forth, as the flames rise higher.
She is engulfed in searing pain,
She sings Bye Bye Blackbird over and over again.
" Here no one loves or understands me", is her favorite part,
She sings it with feeling, that come from her heart.
As The Fire Dancer sways amid the flames,
Her eyes glow brightly, her long dark hair is a tangled mane.
She babbles to herself, she looks quite insane.
She has no name, for she is just smoke,
To those that behold, she is a joke.
She is so weary of dancing to another's tune,
She requests for solace, to bathe her in the light from the moon.
Angry voices ridicule her as she sways,
She bearly can hold on, day after day.
