How I have been deaf in my right ear since birth and now have meniere's disease in my left ear. I started taking Sign Language when I was in the 3rd grade. I still take refresher courses to this day. I just may need it after all!

Till my sister
comes to get me and
Takes me back to where
The FUN is at.
At school, have to sit on the
right side of the classroom
so I can hear with my
left ear and so I can
always hear the
teacher.
I was always called
The "brown-noser" for it.
Took Sign Language classes
with my sister, we had FUN!
Learned how to talk in a
different way AND later learned
what a beautiful and expressive
language it is.
I was afraid
I would go
Deaf one day.
Twenty-Four years later, I am going deaf!
It is called
Meniere's Disease which
Is in my
Left ear.
I go deaf during the day
For a few hours
Then my hearing returns.
Scares the HECK out of me!
I lip read though so I can
Get by without the use of
Signs.
Although I want to sign.
No one else in my family
Will remember HOW to sign or knows HOW TO sign and therefore I cannot
Communicate with them.
Why is it my mother NEVER took
Sign Language courses so she could communicate with me?
