5 months clean, on my way to health and happiness
(as well as can be expected with a brain disease, hydrocephalus)
I am OVER the drugs now,
THAT is the PAST!
Mom agrees BUT she STILL QUESTIONS ME,
LIKE SHE DID LAST NIGHT.
I picked up medicine while she was gone,
and came home and put it on the shelf ,taking out what I needed for the night.
I fell asleep on my bed without getting ready for bed.
Mom got worried and woke me up.
She asked me where the 5 pills were. I reminded her they were in my container where they should be.
Now it is 1:30am and I cannot get back to sleep.
All this happened at 11:15pm.
You can NEVER ERASE what you have once started no matter how hard you try and stop it.
That is just a fact of life!

Authors Note: I had thought I had kicked the drug habit. I had been clean for over 2 years. Well, this summer I started to fall back into old patterns but my Mother stopped me before it got serious as to going to the Emergency room for narcotics again or anything like that. I have never done any street drugs. I am not stupid. I usually only stick to prescription pills. I only get them in RARE occurrences though! The times I get them are getting few and farther between! I get them now maybe once every other month at most! I still feel like they are a problem though but at times I do NEED the pills for LEGITIMATE PAIN problems! I USUALLY just take 2-4 Aleve and call the doctor or Neurologist in a couple of days or something to that affect depending on the situation.
It is a rough road still. Drugs never leave you, especially when you are ill and have a genetic disease and possibly a second genetic disease.
