Bells are symbolic of many things, including calling people to church, joyous occasions such as weddings, and this season -- my favorite Christmas carol is "Carol of the Bells" (and there is also the Salvation Army volunteers ringing their bells outside Kmart, Wal-Mart, etc.) I like the sounds you tie into this, but I feel that this poem is only a start. This needs some work. I have not heard of bells being tied freedom, except for "Let freedom ring" or if you're talking about bells ringing to celebrate the end of war. But I have no idea how bells are tied to protection. I think the ties between bells as freedom and protection should be made clearer.
