I am a teacher
It's what I do
You look down on me
And tell me I need to look ahead
What's next
Teaching I say
But don't you want to better yourself
I better myself everyday
I better myself and others
I better the world
It's tough
Tough as shit
Sometimes it's just tough shit
But it's my room
My students
I'm their teacher
I don't always run the class
Sometimes they run me
They talk and I wait
I talk and they wait
When can we start
They ask
I hate that question
We will start when we're ready
Duh
We have already started
You just don't know because you've been talking to your friend
Oh my bad
Yes your bad
Can we start now
Ahg
Wastes time
We only have 40 minutes
A lot of it wasted
Usually because of one or two kids
I try to ignore them
How do you ignore someone who is continuously climbing up and jumping off a table
Yes that gets my attention
But what about the others
I wink at one
He tries to wink back
Both eyes close
But it keeps me going
I love them
Sometimes too much
I cry for them
I try not to cry in front of them
But sometimes I do
They don't care
In fact it just makes it worse
They have won
But they only win the battles
Not the war
They leave having learned something
Anything
If it's not about my subject
At least its about life
We talk
We laugh
We cry
We feel
We live
I teach

It sounds a lot like what we all do if we really care about our careers. Teaching others, in my opinion, is the second most ultimate sacrifice a person and do other than giving one's life for his/her country.
