I saw an old love and was dismayed as to the state of that person.

Reunion of Hearts Not Healed

by Amber "V" Moonstone 10/07/07

Standing on the edge of reality
I turn and there you are;
You are the image of the man
that I once loved.

You look at me with those eyes
that were only once for me
Now your stare is blank
and no longer eyes that twinkle.

I do see a lonely man
lost to the world
without passion or love
for himself or anyone.

I have longed for this moment
to be reunited with my love
but now I see he has left
this world, somewhere gone astray.

Won't you come back to me?
Can you not see
that my heart is still warm
with passion for thee.

Old love can dominate our hearts if we let them. I think when we think of the past...we don't always recall the bad times that made us leave.
This is sad to a point but not so when you are pondering the old. It's good to taste our old footprints some time. Then we know we lived!
Love,
Susan

Well expressed Amber, it is often a shock to our systems when we do remeet someone who we once loved only to find out we don't even know why we ever were attracted to them, and yes it is with pity that our hearts now care.

Perhaps he was born love-deaf and can't hear; still he didn't went astray...because he doesn't know where to look, he is also blind.

This says to me that there is no going back. Life goes on and we must not baby-sit, bring back or enable dysfunction only to live through the same downward spiral of others in our lives. Thought-provoking write.
