"What Is Love?"
by Amber "V" Moonstone

What is Love?
A question, a puzzlement.

I have been there,
This place called love,
It is a place of rapture,
It is a place of spiritual healing,
It is a place of endless passionate nights,
It is a place of warm and gentle caresses,
It is a place of serenity and fulfillment,

But it can also be a place of deceit,
A place of mistrust,
A place of pain, sorrow, and enslavement.

I have visited all those places,
And now, at this moment,
I choose to live with the love I feel inside,
To live each day, knowing that I am in
control of the love I feel for myself and others.

I will not visit that place of deceit, mistrust ,
pain, sorrow or enslavement again.

I will only visit where the love is pure,
honest, and unconditional.

What is Love?
Love is not questioned, love is uncomplicated,
Love comes first, from your love of yourself!

Author's Notes: What is Love, a question we all ask at one time or another. I have been hopelessly in love, passionately in love, and comfortably in love. I choose to love myself first and then the perfect love will find me.
Peace "love" and light,
Amber "V" Moonstone

So beautifully expressed and worded! To truly love, we must first embrace and love ourselves! Sometimes this is a very hard task, for we sometimes are cruel to ourselves! LOVE YA! SC

When love is ready, love will appear;
its semblance, our own, and then, our reflection -
love, its growth, our growth, in someone, in all else.

See what your beautiful poem inspired, dear Amber? :0)

(Incidentally, I have written an article, not too long ago, on this very theme; it's titled "the ultimate love controversy" - you may enjoy checking it out.)

Love, and many thanks, with {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}

Amber, a great poem of love and what love does to us all. It ripens like a magnificent garden of flowers and dies like the night after a frost. A poem of truth.

Your view of love is so "right on target." The positive aspects of love bring unending joy. The negative aspects of love can kill one's core and create such havoc.

God bless you. Kathy

Beautifully peaceful photograph, wish I was there. Very well put, reaching out with love for others is like charity, it all begins with self...

Be safe,

Your poem has a very meaningful theme that is well written. I think you stated the real key to love--loving oneself first. One has to know how to love before they can extend it to others.

Ah love is an enigma wrapped up in a life riddle, no matter how much we believe we can avoid it...we must learn to accept the good with the bad.

Amber,

How right you are. Love is unconditional and never forgetting that there are two of you with hearts that should beat as one. Love is the feeling of pain within each time we are without each other. It's also the strength to get through each day knowing that your love waits at the end of it. Bless You Always, Paul.
