Butterflies Fluttering
I feel
with the cadence of my heartbeat
When I see you walking by.

Silvery icy snakes
Slitter in my nervous stomach
as thoughts of you

Sail through my mind.

In wonderful dreams of you
you take my breath away
my heart is in pain
in moments of loneliness
While we’re apart.

You are the cause
of many arrows piercing my heart
As Cupid empties his quiver
with every delivered
Bulls eye
of a love cursed with Pain.

The pain that you feel
is a loneliness that is real.
I, too, feel Cupid’s arrow

Laced in poisonous visions

Of a love that may never be.

Cupid has played a nasty trick on us,

Delivering our hearts

To each other, while knowing

That we are promised to another.

Why such agony,

Amongst such ecstasy?

Only Cupid knows the truth,
our hearts are at his mercy.

Come to me for one night,

Allow me to remove this quiver

From your heart,

And bring a shining star

To brighten your essence

Sending waves of comfort,
and love to your existence.

Let us banish the pain together.

You are my love;
we deserve to be together,

Why has Cupid intervened

catapulting these feelings of love?
