Last night I heard

What I thought was rolling thunder

At a distance,

Then realized it was

Our Independence Day.

From afar Into the darken sky

I saw the stars bursting

Comets falling from the heavens

“Ambers”

Fading in the night skies

Lighting up my mind

A tear flow from my eyes

Again wanting poetry in defiance

As our country did with

The Brits.

Only in our time at the now

The defiance were passionate desires

To be scribed by golden quills

Setting the skies on fire

By writers desperately

Seeking balance to bring to life

Literary fire

Now cooking in a mine

In flamed with wanton Expressions

Of thoughts

Created deep in Hearts and souls

Before they expire.

The crash of the fireworks,
the brilliance of the lights
sends my mind toward you.

Knowing our passion
could be as explosive
as this visual experience.

Your scribed words
send messages of
burning passionate longing.

Let us re-trace the journey

We have traveled as

Romantic writers

Of the passionate genre.

Our craving for eternal love
has been the driving force
of many lonely nights.

On the evening of our country's
Independence Day,
It is with gratitude and thanks
that fills my heart with joy.

Never have two golden pens,
graced a more captive audience
as this arena under the
magnificent fireworks of man's desires.

We have grabbed our independence

Through surmountable turmoil

Toward bringing our romantic words

Together, as we celebrate
“Our” Independence Day!
