I was the sun
and you, my shadow
but warmth cannot exist without
twilight's subtle embrace
when you left, the earth held its breath
the heavens stilled
the skies opened forth
and teared forth a torrent never seen
the lightning danced drunkenly
dazed and confused
as Gabriel was dispatched
in an embrace of compassion
a walk of two worlds
and yet you ascended to your long-sought peace
I struggled without the pull to my tide
adrift in an endless current
why this?
why now?
I feel like I'll never see the moon again
until the angels carry me hence
all pales and seems insignificant now
I see you everywhere
in every step I take
shining on my face
coursing through my veins
brilliant diamond
your love was my strength
crashing mightily in the oceans' roar
I know now you are One and complete.
