YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE

i know i’m your guilty pleasure
i never hear from you
but you read my poetry

i know you read it
it’s been read hundreds of times
with only a few comments

do you read it in bed?
stretched out on the beach
or maybe as you relax
in a decadent bubble bath?

do you feel the heat of desire
does your breathing shallow
your soft skin warm with blush

you are guilty, we both know it,
of making me your guilty pleasure

do you think of me at all
when you read it?
do you run your fingers
through my black hair
and kiss me with the fire
i write about?

i’m whispering in your ear
words hot enough to sear
listen, can you hear?

as your hands move over
round hills and moist valley
do you think of them as my hands?

can you feel my fingers and tongue
claiming rights to all
your most intimate places?

do you sigh
that deep kind of surrender sigh
and whisper your absolute “yes”
to the sensual persuasion
of your guilty pleasure ?
