A MOMENT IN TIME

there is a moment, crystallized in my soul
i glimpsed you floating there, on a placid lake
like a pale lotus at twilight opening to the moon
your cool petals unfolding to the hot kiss of night
your fragrance carried on the wings of the wind
heart inviting the wanderer to rest in your arms
and savor the fruited ambrosia of a woman’s love
hidden within the crevices of her plump desire


a moment in time when two spirits found refuge
in intense deluge of our present storm, eclipsing
half forgotten monsoons that once drenched us
in the years before loneliness claimed our hearts
and i had transformed into your entranced voyeur
watching from the misted shadows of your dreams
as you dropped all the veils from your yearning
and they floated away on the waters of surrender
