UNWELCOME DAWN


she dances through my dreams
in time to an exotic rumba beat
her firm hips swaying side to side
like a fertile palm tree by the sea
where gulls frolic in rhythmic waves
and lovers lie together on white sand
welcoming the ebony cover of night


she reaches her hands out to me
and whispers in my ear, temptations
that rival the brilliance of starlight
her breasts are twin hills of delight
uncovered and firm with hot desire
she bids me touch and taste their tips
on my tongue’s journey southward



her laughter baptizes the night with fire
captures and holds my soul in her palm
in the night, in the moonlight, we dance
flesh to flesh we commune soul to soul
drink our fill of the strong liquor of love
we revel, besotted on passion’s pleasures
until unwelcome dawn dances her away
